Each type of crane has its own safe operation procedures. If you want to operate crane safely, you must master it in advance. The following is a brief introduction of safe operating procedures for gantry cranes.
1. Before the gantry crane is operated, the brakes, hooks, wire ropes and safety devices of the crane need to be checked. If any abnormal phenomenon is found, it needs to be solved in time.
2. The operator must confirm that no one is on the platform or track before turning on the main power. When the power circuit breaker is locked or a notice board showed, the main power supply should be removed before turning on. When the gantry crane is operated, it is necessary to perform the bell alarm for various operations in accordance with the regulations, and also need to operate in accordance with the unified command signal.
3. When the vehicles of gantry cranes are in normal operation, they cannot be braked and stopped. When changing the movement direction of the vehicles, the handle must be at the “zero” position and the mechanism should be completely stopped before driving in the opposite direction.
4. When the gantry crane suddenly loses power, it is necessary to return all the control handles of the crane to the “zero” position in time, and check whether the gantry crane could be operated normally before restarting.
5. For gantry cranes with two hooks, if the main and auxiliary hooks are switched and the height of the two hooks is close, the main and auxiliary hooks must be operated separately to avoid collisions.
6. When lifting heavy objects, the weight should be lowered 0.5 meters above the ground to check the performance of the gantry crane brake, and then perform normal operations after confirming the reliability.
