Grab bucket overhead crane is a specialized lifting equipment designed for precise and efficient handling of bulk materials. Unlike conventional cranes, grab overhead cranes are equipped with a grab, which is a key component for gripping and lifting loose materials such as coal, sand or gravel. Grab cranes are mainly composed of a bridge frame, crane travelling mechanism, trolley, electrical equipment and grab. Grab bucket overhead cranes are widely used in power stations, warehouses, workshops and harbours for loading and unloading some scattered items.

Grab Bucket Overhead Crane Components

Mechanical part
  • Double main beams, welded box beams, arching by national standards.
  • The main welding seam adopts submerged arc automatic welding and non-destructive testing.
  • High-strength bolts are used to connect the end beams for easy transportation.
  • The trolley frame consists of box-type beams to form a frame structure.
Trolley part
  • The hoisting mechanism consists of a motor, brake, coupling, drive shaft, reducer, drum, pulley block, wire rope and other components.
  • The motor is a special YZR-type wire-wound motor for cranes, with insulation class F. The brake is a hydraulic actuator normally a closed type.
  • The drum adopts a casting drum, the deflection angle of the wire rope is <3.5°, and there are 3 turns and 2 turns of fixing rings at both ends of the drum.
  • The shaft head of the reel is equipped with a rotary limit switch to ensure the safe use of the hoist.
Cart running
