General Introduction of Crane Wheels
Crane wheels are a type of forgings, mainly used in gantry cranes and bridge cranes. Crane wheels are relatively easy to damage. According to the use characteristics of crane wheels, the wheel tread is required to have higher hardness, and a certain hardened layer depth and transition layer (depth> 10mm, hardness HRC40-48) to improve the bearing capacity, wear resistance and contact fatigue resistance. At the same time, the crane wheel matrix structure is required to have good comprehensive mechanical properties and a good organizational state, and the hardness should reach HBS187~229, so that it has high toughness, and improves impact resistance and cracking resistance.
Forged crane wheels generally refer to those serving metallurgical cranes, material box loading cranes, slab handling cranes, steel coil clamp cranes, disk cranes and other bridge cranes with higher working levels in metallurgical plants.
Crane Wheel Installation Sequence
The main sequence of crane wheel installation is: the connecting bolts of the wheel shaft end coupling, the fastening bolts connecting the wheel group angle bearing box and the end beam, then prying the wheel group and pulling it out along the track surface, and finally the new active wheel group can be hoisted to the lifting track, push the wheel group close to the installation position, adjust the jack to lower the car body slowly, insert the fastening bolts, tighten the nuts, and ensure safety.
Clearance Between Crane Wheels and Tracks
Cranes of different tonnage have different clearance requirements for the wheels and tracks. The clearance of larger tonnage is also larger. Within 10 tons, it is 3~5mm. 50 tons can reach 10mm. This refers to the minimum distance between the inner side of the crane wheel flange and the track. The track itself has non-straightness and non-parallelism, so this clearance is different in different parts of the track.
Crane Wheel Inspection Method
General inspection method for crane wheels: first use kerosene leptospirosis, then check with a 20x magnifying glass for fatigue cracks, especially the dangerous parts, carefully check the plate hook bushes, pins, holes and other wear inspections, and check for loose fasteners. Our company’s crane wheels are inspected in this way, and each product will be carefully and strictly inspected.
